Yamaha YXZ Doors

Your Yamaha YXZ delivers pure sport UTV performance backed by Yamaha's legendary reliability, proving that you can have genuine racing capability without the constant maintenance drama that makes some high-performance machines more trouble than they're worth - but when winter weather threatens to shut down your riding season or turn every adventure into a teeth-chattering survival test, aftermarket Yamaha YXZ doors keep you warm and focused instead of forcing you to hibernate until spring.

The YXZ's focus on delivering serious sport performance means you're exposed to wind and weather in ways that make effective door protection absolutely critical for both comfort and safety when aggressive riding takes you into challenging environments that test both machine and rider capabilities. These aren't basic wind barriers that barely help - we're talking about performance-grade Yamaha YXZ doors from companies that build equipment for riders who demand reliable performance when conditions get serious.

BUYER'S GUIDE: How to Choose Yamaha YXZ Doors

Read this page in two halves. A small part of it is complete doors. The larger part, 16 of the 21 listings, is DragonFire Pursuit door components sold one panel and one corner at a time, so a damaged door gets repaired instead of replaced. Knowing which half you are shopping in prevents the most common wasted order in this category.

Complete Doors and Pursuit Parts, Sorted

What each Yamaha YXZ door listing actually is, and what it works with
Type Material and specs Best for What you give up
Soft upper doors 100 percent marine-grade polyester with under 1 percent stretch, 30-gauge double-polished vinyl, #10 metal YKK zippers, self-adhesive Velcro, $447.95 Closing the upper cab on a 2016-2018 YXZ as part of a modular build 2016-2018 fitment only, and the vinyl hazes over the years
Soft side enclosures 600 denier PVC-backed polyester with a sewn-in clear acrylic window and full-length double-pull zippers, $379.95 to $524.95 Cutting side wind on a YXZ that already runs a windshield and a top Sides only, and it is catalogued under cab enclosures rather than doors
Pursuit door skins Hand-rolled aluminum in a black powder coat, sold one panel at a time, $249.99 to $399.99 Replacing a dented panel on DragonFire Pursuit doors you already own Works only with DragonFire Pursuit doors, and it is a panel, not a door
Pursuit door frames Hand-rolled aluminum in a black powder coat, sold per corner, $419.99 Replacing a bent frame and keeping the rest of the door in service A frame plus a skin runs $670 to $820 for one rebuilt door
Hinges, latches and struts AJK pin and barrel hinges at $34.99, DragonFire latch sets at $59.99, 20 lb gas struts at $24.79 to $30.71 Bringing a sagging or loose door back to solid for under $100 They fix a door you already have, they do not make one

Aluminum, Marine Polyester and the Parts That Wear First

DragonFire builds the Pursuit skins and frames from hand-rolled aluminum in a black powder coat, and that choice is the reason this page exists. Aluminum dents where plastic cracks, so a hit that would scrap a molded door leaves a Pursuit panel bent and fixable. On the fabric side, 3 Star specifies 100 percent marine-grade polyester stabilized to under 1 percent stretch or shrinkage, sewn with high-tenacity multifilament polyester thread, behind 30-gauge double-polished vinyl and #10 metal YKK zippers. Those are the numbers that separate a soft door still shutting square in year four from one that has stretched out of shape. The SuperATV piece here is 1/4-inch polycarbonate with an XR Optic hard coat, rated 250 times stronger than glass. Then there is the wear list, which is short and predictable. Hinges and latches go first because they take every open and close, and a gas strut loses its push long before a panel gives out. All three are stocked separately for that reason.

What a YXZ Door Repair or a New Set Costs

The cheap end is hardware, and it fixes most complaints. A 20 lb AJK gas strut is $24.79 to $30.71, a pin or barrel hinge is $34.99, and a DragonFire latch set is $59.99. A door that sags, rattles or will not stay shut usually needs one of those three and nothing larger.

The middle is panel work, where most orders on this page land. Pursuit skins run $249.99 for a standard panel up to $399.99 depending on the corner and finish, which buys back a door that took a hit without touching the frame or the hardware.

The top is a full corner. A Pursuit frame is $419.99, so a frame and a skin together come to roughly $670 to $820 for one rebuilt door. Worth knowing before you commit: the complete 3 Star soft upper set is $447.95, less than rebuilding a single Pursuit corner. If both doors are past saving, price the set against the repair first.

Every order carries a risk-free 90-day return, and our customer service team averages five-plus years here, so the person confirming your part number has seen these doors before. The most common warranty is between 3-6 months, but Everything Yamaha Offroad does offer extended 1- and 2-year warranties on all products if that is something you are interested in, and you can add the extended warranty right at checkout. For a second opinion, see how we have treated other YXZ owners.

Top 3 Yamaha YXZ Door Brands

One brand owns the repair side of this page, and two supply the doors you buy outright.

  1. DragonFire Racing accounts for 16 of the 21 listings here, all Pursuit door line: skins, frames and latch sets in hand-rolled aluminum with a black powder coat, catalogued by corner so you replace the damaged piece instead of the door.
  2. 3 Star Industries makes the only complete door set on the page, soft uppers in marine-grade polyester held to under 1 percent stretch, with 30-gauge double-polished vinyl and #10 metal YKK zippers.
  3. Greene Mountain Outdoors covers the soft side route with made-in-USA 600 denier PVC-backed panels and a sewn-in clear acrylic window, fully removable on double-pull zippers.

SuperATV supplies the sliding window insert for its own full poly doors, and AJK Offroad stocks the pin hinges and gas struts that keep any of it swinging right.

Yamaha YXZ Door FAQ

Will these DragonFire skins and frames fit any YXZ door?

No. DragonFire states plainly that the skins and frames work only with DragonFire Racing Pursuit doors. They are replacement pieces for that line, not universal panels, and they will not bolt to a soft door or another brand's frame. A complete corner is a frame plus a skin, so budget both if the door took a hard hit.

Why do I see rear doors listed for a two-seat car?

Because DragonFire builds one part for three machines and lists it that way. The Viking VI and the four-seat Wolverine have a back row, the YXZ1000R does not, so front driver and front passenger are the corners that matter here. Read the corner in the product name before you add to cart.

Do soft upper doors close the cab on their own?

No, and 3 Star says so in its own description. The uppers are part of a modular cab and seal properly in combination with a windshield, a roof and a back panel. On their own they cut side wind and rain, which is often enough for shoulder-season riding.

Which years does each option cover?

The year filter runs 2016 through 2026, and the counts split at 2018. The 3 Star soft doors are cut for 2016-2018 machines only, and the DragonFire Pursuit components carry across the range. Give us the year and the corner and we will match the part number.

Is it cheaper to repair a door or buy a new set?

Repair wins for hardware and single panels. A latch set is $59.99, a hinge is $34.99, and a skin is $249.99 to $399.99, all of which beat replacing a door. The math flips at the frame: a frame plus a skin puts one corner at $670 to $820, while the complete 3 Star soft upper set is $447.95. If both doors are damaged down to the frames, price the new set first.
